Spring, summer & autumn 2008 -- forthcoming events

Reading at Fairleigh Dickinson University, WAMFEST

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, 4:00 p.m., FDU Madison Campus, Library. Reading by Kennedy in association with his status as finalist for a National Magazine Award in the essay category. The Award itself will be presented -- to whichever of the six finalists is chosen -- on May 1st at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

Launch Readings in Copenhagen, Danish Issue of The Literary Review

Wednesday, June 11th, 8.00 p.m., Tranquebar Bookcafé, Borgergade in central Copenhagen. Walter Cummins, Editor-in-chief, and Thomas E. Kennedy, Guest Editor, will preside over the official launch of The Literary Review: New Danish Writing, Voices from The Blue Port & Beyond, an anthology including previously unpublished translations of more than 25 contemporary Danish poets and prose writers. This event will include readings by several of the authors included in the anthology and of translations by Cummins and Kennedy.

Summer 2008

August 2008: Kennedy will be teaching at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey. These sessions are open only to MFA students at FDU.

Autumn 2008

October 2008: Plans are currently underway for a series of readings throughout the US to launch Kennedy's new essay collection, Riding the Dog: A Look Back at America (New American Press). Following is the itinerary -- further details about exact venues to be provided when available:

October 6th, noon, Kennedy reads at Harper College, Palatine, Illinois (just outside Chicago)

October 7th and 8th: Denver, Colorado

October 9th and 10th: Kansas City

October 11-14: San Diego
